Data capture is a part of the response handling process for charity fundraising. When a physical or electronic response is received, the data included as part of that response is captured electronically and retained by the charity in a database so that they can better understand the success of a campaign or programme over time, and so that they can better understand their supporters to enhance each supporter experience.
Data might be captured electronically online, or through a physical response which is then either digitally scanned, manually entered or a combination of the two.
